Flight Two – A Day Not To Be Forgotten

I was working Gate Check-in at STL that day (June 30, 1956), and all of us knew what had happened to Flight Two. Flight 1002 re-originated in MKC and we could not believe the large number of people meeting it at the gate when it arrived. I can only guess that some just could not believe Flight Two was down, and perhaps were hoping that their relatives/friends might be on 1002.
