TWA 800 - JFK/PAR - July 17, 1996

 Another painful year has passed, and every one at TWA no doubt will remember what we were doing at 8:45 pm (EST) on July 17, 1996. We were engulfed in shock as our lives were dramatically, savagely, changed forever. An unwavering dedication to safe operations has always been an article of faith in our business, and every fatal aircraft accident leaves a deep scar on our souls, but the loss of Flight 800 shortly after departing Kennedy was of a magnitude we had never before experienced.

 We cannot  forget the 230 souls who perished that warm summer evening, including the TWA family and friends who were aboard, as reported by Associated Press:
