The 12th anniversary of flt.800 was once again held out on eastern Long Island , a beach called Smith`s Point. I had to take refuge from the hot blistering sun [ temperature near 100 degrees ] n a makeshift tent set up to celebrate a later high school graduation situation called for the consumption of gallons of Poland Spring water. Later I met up with 2 former intn`l flt.attendants who foresaw and took advantage of the surrounding beach and immersed themselves in the ocean waters. Another one who came up from North Carolina to visit a friend in Connecticut had never saw the memorial stood in awe at the large sheer black block of stone. Her finger touched the names of some of the TWA people she knew . All in all the turnout was not as large as in previous years. The heat was relentless and unforgiving. The shrubbery, flowers and surrounding fauna is still beautiful around the site and well taken care of.. |

Our Tampabay group will meet tomorrow (July 19th) for our annual Memorial Service at Sunset Beach, just to the north of St. Petersburg, thanks to our organizer, Claire Mattison. It\\\\\'s a lovely location for paying tribute to our friends, some of whom lived nearby.

Hello to you all, especially the MCI/KCAC employees. I had the opportunity to attend the Christmas Dinner at the Overhaul Base this year and MY GOODNESS, has it changed!
I am still close by, now working at the airport, can\\\\\\\'t get away from those airplanes, it\\\\\\\'s in my blood.
Happy New Year to all TWA Employees and their families. Remember, we might be out of sight, but we will never be out of mind. As long as their is one TWA Employee around, TWA will always be alive.
God Bless you all and thanks for the wonderful memories.
Love Ya, Gloria Stephens - after 13 positions in 31 years know address is Metal Fab Shop - TWA Overhaul Base |
